James J. Szewczyk

James Szewczyk, 66, of South Hadley passed away unexpectedly March 22, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 13, 1953 in Holyoke, MA to Stephen and Josephine (Drosdal) Szewczyk. James was a life long resident of South Hadley. He previously worked in construction as a painter and was an avid gardener. James also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, skiing and road racing. He is survived by four siblings, Kathleen Harrop and her husband Bill of Granby, Edward Szewczyk and wife Robyn of Granby, Robert Szewczyk of Berlin and Stephen Szewczyk of Worthington. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Sarah Harrop, Caitlin Szewczyk, Stephen Szewczyk, Kathryn Szewczyk, Michael Szewczyk, Benjamin Szewczyk and many dear friends. Burial will be held at the family's discretion. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa of Lisieux in South Hadley at a later date.
