Janet May Marcy

Janet May (Grover) Marcy, 90, of Granby, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Daybrook Village in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Born on February 2, 1936, in Holden, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Curtis N. Grover and Grace V. (Brown) Grover and was raised in Sterling, Massachusetts.

Janet’s life was rich with love, family and countless memories that she cherished throughout her years. She was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her family in Granby, MA alongside her husband, John Marcy, Jr. She was a loving and supportive mother to her son, Christopher Marcy and his wife, Kelli; her son, James Marcy and his wife, Suzanne; and her daughter, the late Linda Marchisotto and her husband, Paul.

In addition to her parents and daughter, Linda, Janet also held a special place in her heart for her deceased granddaughter, Amy Marchisotto, and her brother, Roger Grover. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Marchisotto, Samantha Hutt, Kaitlin Marcy, Tyler Marcy, and Jacob Marcy; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Henry, Eloise, Isla, and Amelia.

Janet had a deep passion for sewing and quilting, which she enjoyed sharing with her family. She was actively involved with the Girl Scouts, serving as camp director at Camp Lewis Perkins in South Hadley and working in the Western Massachusetts council office.

In her retirement years, Janet and her husband enjoyed traveling across the United States in their motorhome. They spent many happy years as snowbirds in Sarasota, Florida, and later in Arizona, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
