Joyce G. Roberts

South Hadley- Joyce G. Roberts, 94, passed away August 17, 2025 at her home with family at her side. She was born on June 14, 1931 in South Hadley to the late Alfred J. and Martha H. (Boerner) Gagne. Joyce was a lifelong resident of South Hadley, graduated from South Hadley High School, and later earned a BA from Mt. Holyoke College. She worked for many years as an administrator at Mass Mutual and later dedicated her time to raising her son, Jay, while working and volunteering at First Congregational Church of South Hadley. Joyce was an extremely active and devoted member of First Congregational and was always there to lend a helping hand. Joyce was an avid reader and loved volunteering her time at the Gaylord Memorial Library in South Hadley. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with her cousins. She especially treasured their Lenten lunches. Joyce will be dearly missed by her son, Roland "Jay" Roberts, as well as many extended family members. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 10-11am with a service to begin at 11am at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's memory can be made to the First Congregational Church, 1 Church St. South Hadley, MA 01075
