Robert L. Cournoyer

Robert L. Cournoyer, 66, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at his home in Holyoke, MA, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 2, 1960, in Holyoke, he was the son of Paul and Georgianna (Plante) Cournoyer. Bob was a lifelong resident of Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke Trade School.

Bob was a man of many talents and a hard worker. He retired as a maintenance technician from Aspen Square Management, having previously contributed his skills at Hampden Paper and as a bartender at the Hotel Jess in Holyoke. Beyond his professional life, Bob was a craftsman who took particular pride in being a jack-of-all-trades.

A passionate New England sports fan, Bob found joy in supporting his teams with great enthusiasm. He was also a devoted automotive enthusiast who had a special fondness for Corvettes and classic cars. Bob enjoyed hunting and camping trips in Heath, MA, where he shared treasured moments in the outdoors with his family. If you knew Bob, you know that he could always be found hanging out in his "Garage".

Bob is survived by his brother Serge Cournoyer, with whom he lived, and his sisters Carmen Roman and Nicole Pare, both residents of South Hadley. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Jean Guy, Gilles "Jimmy", Paul, and Jacques Cournoyer.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Beers & Story Funeral Homes in South Hadley. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be begin at 6:00 p.m.
