Johnnie Wilson

Johnnie Lee Wilson, Jr, age 89, of Santa Cruz County, California, passed away peacefully and with a smile on September 8, 2026. He was at home surrounded by family members.

Born April 27, 1937 in Columbus, MS, Johnnie was the only son of Lillie Mae Tucker and Johnnie Lee Wilson Sr.. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, OK, and joined the US Navy in 1961, where he was stationed in Long Beach, California on the USS Kearesage. While in the Navy, Johnnie became involved with The Rosicrucian Order.

He married Delois Wilson from Memphis, TN in 1967 and settled in Santa Cruz, CA in 1970. Together, they had 1 child, Michelle in 1979. Johnnie was the owner of HiTech Electronics TV Repair in Santa Cruz County for over 30 years.

Johnnie was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon.

Johnnie is survived by his loving wife Delois; his precious daughter Michelle, his sister, Lillie Lee of Bellevue, Washington, 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Santa Cruz, California at 11:30AM.
