Kyle Snowden

Kyle Snowden, 68, passed away at his home in Santa Cruz on July 3, 2026. He was born on January 15, 1958, in Chicago, IL to parents Herbert and Christine Snowden.

Kyle had the unique opportunity growing up in that he was able to spend his time in both Chicago and Santa Cruz. He attended elementary and middle school in both states but spent his high school years in Chicago attending Farragut & South Shore High School.

After school, Kyle spent his working years at a few well-known Santa Cruz companies: Harmony Foods, Wrigley’s, and Thresholds.

Despite his love for California, Kyle remained a devoted Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Bulls fan when it came to sports. He cherished family and friend gatherings, particularly the ones on Sundays during football season. Kyle not only enjoyed watching sports but also partaking in them too. His face was a familiar one in his younger years on the basketball courts of Meder Street, London Nelson and Jade Street Parks. When he wasn’t partaking or watching something sports related, you could find him watching Western movies and exploring the Nature channels. He also loved games and would often play dominoes, solitaire, and Tetris while listening to classic slow jams.

Kyle will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Colleen Bainum-Snowden; son K.C. Snowden; sisters Jaime and Shelley; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Christine Snowden.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12th at 10am at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel followed by a celebration of life reception at Delaveaga Park at 1pm.
