Stephanie Elizabeth Stevens

Oct 30, 1950 — Aug 27, 2026

Stephanie Elizabeth Stevens, age 75, of Soquel, California, passed away after a 4½-year battle with ovarian cancer, which she faced with remarkable courage, strength, and grace.

Stephanie was born on October 30, 1950, in Torrance, California, to Dorothy and Herbert Herzog. The youngest of three girls, Stephanie completed the Herzog family, whose love and devotion to one another created an unbreakable bond.

In 1970, at just 19 years old, Stephanie married her childhood sweetheart, Bob Stevens. They spent their first year of marriage in Puerto Rico, where Bob was stationed with the United States Coast Guard and Stephanie worked at the cosmetics counter of a high-end department store. After returning to California, they settled in Santa Cruz and built their life together. On April 4, 2026, Stephanie and Bob celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised their two children, Scott and Katie.

Stephanie began her professional life as a talented hairstylist before starting a remarkable 42-year career in banking. She joined County Bank in 1974 as a teller and worked her way into management, ultimately retiring from Comerica Bank as Vice President and Manager of Operations and Administration. Her career reflected so much of who she was—intelligent, confident, capable, hardworking, and respected by those around her.

Despite her many professional accomplishments, Stephanie's greatest joy was always her family. She was happiest simply being with the people she loved.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Bob; her son, Scott; her daughter, Katie; her son-in-law, Rezo; and her grandchildren, Van and Cam.

Stephanie will be deeply missed, but the extraordinary love she gave so freely will remain with her family and friends always. Stephanie loved with her whole heart, and to be loved by her was to know just how special you were.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Stephanie’s memory to the Jean and E. Floyd Kvamme Advanced Cancer Center, supporting cancer care for patients and families in the Santa Cruz community.
