Crescenzo Iorio
Feb 9, 1969 — Jul 29, 2026
Crescenzo “Chris” Iorio, 57, of Amsterdam, New York, unexpectedly passed away on July 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 9, 1969 in Amsterdam, New York, Chris was a devoted husband, father and son whose life was defined by selflessness, humility and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Above all else, Chris was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Through sacrifice, perseverance and unyielding determination, he worked tirelessly to create opportunities and a better life for his wife and children. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Norwich University and he spent his entire career as an engineer for Inyo Broadcasting. On weekends, he also worked as a manager at Adirondack Beverages. Though his passing was sudden and has left an immeasurable void, the values he lived by, his steadfast faith, and the example he set will continue to inspire his children and all who knew him for generations to come.
Nothing brought Chris greater joy than spending time with his family, cousins, and close friends. He loved being outdoors with his beloved dogs, Dakota and Moose, smoking a good cigar, and feeding the birds. A man of service, Chris volunteered for many years in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and devoted countless hours to mentoring and leading local youth through various community and faith-based organizations.
Chris was the beloved son of Philomena (Carbone) Iorio and the late Luigi Iorio. He leaves behind the “love of his life” and devoted wife of 29 years, Davia April DelZotto Iorio; his cherished firstborn son, Luigi Crescenzo Iorio; his brilliant daughter, Davia Olivia Iorio; his vibrant daughter, Lydia Maria Iorio; his sister, Philomena (Thomas) Pitts; and many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, New York. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, E.V., officiating. A Christian burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery following the church service.
