Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Lyall, 89, Fort Johnson, New York, died August 28, 2026, at her home in Fort Johnson.
She was born November 20, 1936, in Chateaugay, the daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Terry LeClair. Betty moved from Chateaugay, New York to Amsterdam a number of years ago. She enjoyed spending time with her Liberty family and her many friends. Betty loved crocheting, reading and writing. She was a faith filled individual, who loved her catholic faith, and she was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed life, she was a friend to many.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Donald Lyall whom she married on June 3, 1989, and who passed away on January 26, 2008. She was also predeceased by her brother Francis LeClair. Survivors include several, nephews and her Liberty family.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:00 am, at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Deacon Larry Steiger as celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Johnson.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Liberty Enterprise, 43 liberty Drive, Amsterdam, NY.
