Hazel Mae Putnam

Mrs. Hazel M. Putnam, 83, of Gloversville, passed away Thursday evening at her home with her loving family at her bedside. She was the daughter of the late Millard and Marguerite Hazzard Hodge.

She attended Fonda schools and was employed for over 30 years for Brown Bus Transportation in Amsterdam retiring in 2018 due to ill health. Hazel was a former member of the Johnstown Moose Club, was an Elvis fan and loved to travel.

Hazel is survived by two sons Michael Putnam (Dawn) and Matthew Putnam (Paula), two daughters Tina Dopp (Frank) and Tammy Putnam, a brother, Donald Hodge (Eva), twelve grandchildren, Trista, Eric, Brett, Tosha, Travis, Dee, Jeno, Johnny, Samantha, Kelsey, Carrissa and Michael Jr., twelve greatgrandchildren, several, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Earnest Putnam whom she married on August 3, 1963, and he passed away on September 17, 1995, and her sister Helen Burke.

A graveside services will be held on Friday, October 30th at 11:00 am at the Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY with the Rev. Tom Flander as celebrant.
