Roy Sutton, Jr., age 88, of Fultonville, passed away September 28, 2026 with his son by his side. He was born October 11, 1937 in Lassellsville, the son of Roy Sr. and Laura Sutton.

Roy attended Oppenheim Schools in his formative years. On October 10, 1959 Roy married the love of his life, Suzanne, at St. Patrick's Church in Johnstown. Together, they began to build their life together and soon welcomed two children, Rodney and Suzanne.

For many years, he worked for the Glen Mohawk Creamery in Fultonville, part-time for Macek's Garage, and the White Mop Wringer Co. in Fultonville, from which he retired after many years of faithful service.

Roy was an avid race fan. He loved racing of all kinds. He worked on and raced the 51JR stock car at the Fonda Speedway.

Roy’s mornings were defined by simple pleasures and good company. He looked forward every day to breakfast with his close friends, sharing stories, laughs, and continuous camaraderie through the tight-knit circles of Macek's Garage and Nethaway Garage. Above all, Roy’s greatest joy in life was his family. Prior to her passing, Roy would visit Suzanne at the nursing home every day and spend all day with her, ensuring she had everything she needed. She was truly the love of his life. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and treasured the times spent together.

Roy is survived by his son, Rodney Sutton (Dawn) and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his beloved Suzanne, who passed on November 2, 2025. At the time they had shared 66 years of marriage. He is also predeceased by his daughter, Suzanne, and his siblings.

The family has chosen to remember Roy's life privately at this time, and there are no services. Burial will take place the Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, at the convenience of the family.
