Eleanor D'Onofrio

Eleanor D’Onofrio, age 88, of Gloversville, New York, passed away on April 18, 2026 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. Eleanor was born on February 11, 1938, to the late William and Irene (Longfritz) Rieth. She attended Gloversville schools. Upon graduation, she was employed at Boyd Harmon Financial. Following that position, she was employed by the Pine Brook Golf Course as the bookkeeper until she retired. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Dominic Joseph D’Onofrio, who she married on August 8, 1959. Last year they celebrated their 66th anniversary. Eleanor is also survived by her children, Darlene (Kenneth), Michael, and Mark as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Eleanor is predeceased by all her siblings, Victor Rieth, Elmer Rieth, Clayton Rieth, Dorothy Rieth, Evelyn Rieth, and Bessie Bochacek. She is also predeceased by her father-in law, Joseph D’Onofrio, mother-in-law Elsie D’Onofrio and brother-in -law, John D’Onofrio.

Eleanor was an avid theater goer and loved attending shows at Proctor’s Theater and on Broadway. She loved music from the Big Band era, dancing at Sherman’s Amusement Park in Caroga Lake and doing the daily crossword puzzle. But most of all, Eleanor loved spending time with her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services were private at the convenience of the family.
