Frank James DiMarco
Aug 3, 1944 — Oct 30, 2026
Frank J. DiMarco, 82, formerly of Gloversville, passed away on October 30, 2026, following a long illness.
Born on August 3, 1944, Frank was the son of the late James J. DiMarco and Anne Carangelo DiMarco. He was raised in Gloversville, New York and distinguished himself at an early age as an accomplished athlete, becoming a New York State champion wrestler and later starting a boys’ wrestling program in his professional years.
Frank obtained his bachelor’s degree at the SUNY at Oswego and his master’s degree from SUNY at Oneonta. He went on to devote his professional life to education, serving for almost 40 years as an elementary school teacher in the Mayfield Central School District. Teaching was an important part of Frank’s life, and over the years he had the opportunity to educate and influence generations of students. Frank also owned and operated Adirondack Trophy & Sports for nearly 30 years and was a familiar presence to countless local athletes, schools, organizations, and families throughout the area.
Frank was an avid golfer and longtime member of Pinebrook Golf Club where he served as past president and former Club Champion. His years at Pinebrook reflected both his love of the game and the friendships and community that surrounded it.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn H. DiMarco, his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years; his son Erik DiMarco and wife Ginger; his daughter Casey DiMarco; his brothers, Steven and James DiMarco; and many cousins.
Frank will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his dedication to his students and community. He will be deeply missed and affectionately remembered by his family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
