Michael P. Frederick

Michael Frederick, 75, of Gloversville passed away March 20, 2026 at Albany Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1950 in Gloversville, the son of Donald and Shirley (Craig) Frederick.

Michael, aka "Tucker" graduated from Gloversville High School in 1968 and was in the Marine Corps before being honorably discharged.  He was employed by Washburn's Ice Cream as a delivery driver, and Gloversville Water Works before being employed at the Gloversville-Johnstown Wastewater Treatment Plant until his retirement in 2005.

He married Barbara Starin on July 31, 1976, and they were married until her passing in 2022.  They enjoyed traveling to places like Maine, Vermont, Gettysburg, and the Adirondack Park.

Baseball was one of his passions; he coached many in American Legion baseball, and in the Gloversville Little League.  He also enjoyed music, the outdoors, painting model cars, history, and classic cars.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Petrina of Gloversville; his sister Kathy Kovarovic of Scottsdale, AZ, a brother, Thomas (Toni) Frederick of Gloversville.  A sister-in-law, Jane (Chas) Paris of Gloversville, and two brothers in law, Burton (Lorraine) Starin of Canajoharie, and Scott Starin of Johnstown. His father-in-law, Burton (Jacquelyn) Starin of Johnstown.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Barbara, and brother-in-law John J. Kovarovic.

A graveside service will be conducted on May 1, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery, 296 Martin Road, Fonda with Pastor John Califano officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Gloversville Little League, or your local youth baseball organization; the Adirondack Experience at Blue Mountain Lake, or the Wild Center in Tupper Lake; or, to a historical society or arts program of your choosing.
