Sally Ann Hughes, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Born in Port Jervis, New York, Sally was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Janet Hughes. She lived a life full of the love for those around her.
Sally devoted over 30 years of her life to nursing, a career she cherished deeply. She retired in December 2025 from Palatine Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, where she touched the lives of countless patients, families, and colleagues through her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to care.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the genuine compassion she showed to everyone she met.
Above all else, Sally treasured the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed travel, camping at Pine Lake, roller skating, dancing and many other hobbies and interests that brought her joy throughout her life.
Sally is survived by her loving daughter, Karyn Bergen; her son, Glen Springstead (Amanda Laird); sister, Elizabeth Stanton (Donald Stanton); granddaughter, Allysa Baldwin (Loren Durrin); grandsons, Blake and Cade Bergen; many cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as many lifelong friends.
In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased by her brother, David Hughes.
Family and friends are invited to attend a public visitation on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville New York 12078. A memorial service celebrating Sally's life will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m.
Flowers are welcome and may be delivered to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Sally's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered care, support, and friendship throughout her life. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
