Annette Margaret Szczepkowski

Annette Margaret (Haines) Szczepkowski, 73, of Longmont, CO passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026.
Born May 2, 1953, in Sycamore, IL to Marilyn and George Haines, she was the oldest of five children. Annette graduated from McHenry Highschool.
Annette fell in love with Colorado after moving to Longmont in 1985. Once there she never wanted to leave. Colorado and the mountains instantly landed a spot in her heart and became her home. She said, “If I can’t see the mountains, it’s not home!”
Annette had a varied career doing whatever was needed to take care of her family and herself. Ultimately, she landed in the office managing, bookkeeping realm.
Annette’s passion for sewing started early in life, winning county fair ribbons for her Barbie clothes as a young teen. She went on to sew her wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, clothes for her babies, and performed countless alterations for others. Her hobbies expanded through the years to include quilting, knitting, and painting. She loved to bring light and color into the world and donated many of her creations to help those in need.
She loved music and books, which were a large and important part of her life. Her love instilled this same love in her girl, who can’t go a day without music or a book in their Lives.
Annette was 1st a foremost a mom, she loved her girls with her whole heart, even when they drove her crazy! They were her main focus in life until her beloved grandkids started coming along. Her heart grew to encompass all of her “kids”; her kids, grandkids, friends of her kids, friends of friends of her kids, friends, really anyone needing mom-ing. She was an excellent mom, grandma, friend, human and is leaving behind a legacy of family, faith, food, art, music, and LOVE. Annette will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Annette is survived by her four daughters, Tina Steen (Robert), Jessica Szczepkowski, Amy Stawski (Tim), and Camila Ramirez (Michael). Her beloved grandchildren, Bethany, Keegan, Kayla, Sadie, Rylee, Finn, Isabella, and Matthew. Her mother, three brothers, her sister, nieces, and nephews.
Annette is proceeded in death by her father, George Robert Haines. A private memorial will be held by the family
