Carol Elizabeth Walsh
Nov 14, 1941 — May 30, 2026
Carol Elizabeth Houde Walsh passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 30, 2026, surrounded by family in her final moments. She was born in Syracuse, NY, on November 14, 1941, and lived in Camillus, NY, for the majority of her life. Family was very important to her, and in 2016, she moved out to Colorado to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Carol was incredibly funny and quick-witted, making friends wherever she went. A dull moment was never spent with her, as she constantly made jokes and never took things too seriously. Carol loved to spend her time painting, gambling, going for rides, and going out to eat with her friends or family. She loved and was beloved by animals, from the horses on her childhood farm to the many cats she had throughout her life. She enjoyed spending her time outside, feeding the birds or sitting with daughter’s German Shepherd, who she adored. She will be missed for her comforting presence and sarcastic humor.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, Willard and Elizabeth Houde; her two brothers, Jerry Houde and George Houde; her husband, Richard Johnson, the father of her children, David Walsh; and her life-long best friend, Sharon Rebhan.
She is survived by sister-in-law Shirley Houde, son Chris Walsh (Kathy), daughters Laurie Walsh Cronin (Brian) and Shari Swanwick (Ken), step-children Tim Johnson (Meg) and Sara Johnson, her grandchildren Lizzie, Grace, Aly, Madaline, Charlie, Liam, Virginia, Alex, Cady, Connor and Truman, her nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 11, at 2 p.m in Broomfield, Colorado. Contact [email protected] for more information.
