In Memory of Doug Waldron
April 11, 1948 – September 19, 2026
Warren Douglas Waldron, known as Doug, 78, of Longmont, CO passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026. Doug is remembered as a quiet but affable husband, father, friend, and neighbor with a keen intellect and a wry wit.
Doug was born on April 11, 1948 in Boulder, CO to Warren and Mary Waldron. He lived in or near Boulder for most of his life, and in his later years devoted himself to caring for his aging mother. Doug’s only child, Emma, was born in 1987. In the late 90s, Doug reunited with his high school sweetheart, Mary, and spent the rest of his years with her.
Doug appreciated the comforts of home and pleasures of everyday life. A devoted autodidact, Doug is best remembered as an avid reader, collector of books, and jotter of notes. Throughout his life he also pursued many other interests including blacksmithing, poetry, guitar, and road-tripping.
Doug was predeceased by many beloved pets including cats Wacky, Merlin, Alley, Raffles, and Abbey, and dog Loki; and “Gokstad,” his vintage Volkswagen bus.
Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Kisling; a daughter Emma (Aaron) Trammell and her mother Eirinn; a grandson Ziggy; six brothers- and sisters-in-law; and a sister, nephew, and niece.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, no public services will be held. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to https://boulderlibraryfoundation.org/become-a-friend/ in memory of Doug Waldron.
