Clair Donovan Johnson

Clair Donovan, beloved sister, friend, and colleague, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of brilliance, kindness, and generosity that touched all who knew her.

Born and raised in Tucson, Clair distinguished herself early as a gifted student. In 1998, she graduated as valedictorian of Catalina High School and was honored by the Tucson Citizen as the top high school student in the city. She was the recipient of the prestigious Teddy Gleason Scholarship, awarded through the International Longshoremen’s Association, and she excelled not only in academics but also in music and athletics, playing the saxophone and competing in tennis.  She also loved and cared for her dogs.

Clair went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and later her Master’s in Social Work. Her professional journey was as dynamic as it was successful, including an accomplished career in restaurant management, where she combined her sharp intellect with her warm leadership style.

Those who knew Clair will remember her as a kind, generous, funny, and brilliant human being with truly unlimited potential. Her passing is a heartbreaking loss to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.

She is survived by her sister, Victoria Donovan, and her brother, Dennis Donovan, who will carry forward her memory with love and pride.

A private service was held for family and close friends.
