In Loving Memory of Dolores Barbara Pers
Dolores Barbara Pers, age 95, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. She is survived by her beloved son Richard Steven Pers and her beloved daughter Lynn Pers Krcmaric (Don Krcmaric); grandchildren Matthew Krcmaric, Jordan Krcmaric (Melissa Schwan), Michelle Rembert and William Rembert IV; beloved sister, Arlene Gercken; and many relatives nieces, nephews, and their children.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Pers and her daughter Cheryl Pers Rembert (Stewart Rembert). Born March 26, 1930 to Victoria and Steve Kokondy in Calumet City, Illinois. She married Richard Pers in 1953 and they raised their family in Hammond, Indiana.
Dolores had a wonderful smile and positive personality. She was a Girl Scout leader, member of the Pi Epsilon Kappa Sorority Iota Chapter, and active in the community. She also worked in the lab at the Hammond Clinic. She eventually retired from the North Township Assessor's office.
In 2000 Dolores and Richard purchased a home in Tucson, Arizona where they enjoyed the mild winters. They spent summers at Cass Lake in Middlebury, Indiana eventually permanently moving to Tucson where Dolores was active at the Udall Senior Center, Friends Together, and the Red Hats club.
Dolores and Richard enjoyed traveling with many trips to Europe including one following the path of the Battle of the Bulge. They loved camping and traveled throughout the United States with their children and family members. Dolores and her husband, Richard were avid Notre Dame fans, attending games from the 1950's on. She was also a talented artist, creating beautiful oil and watercolor paintings.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 10:00 am. She will be interred at Southern Arizona Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ with her husband Richard. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Arizona Public Media (AZPM) or to the Share Foundation. Dolores loved the documentaries available to her on PBS through AZPM.
