Duane E. Voorheis, Jr.

Oct 31, 1951 — Oct 3, 2026

Duane E. Voorheis Jr., 75, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on October 3, 2026.

Born October 31, 1951, in Bloomington, Illinois, Duane lived his life with a remarkable zest for living. He lived exactly the way he wanted to live fully, happily, and on his own terms, and remained happy and jovial right up until his passing.

Duane was a bright spot in this world. Those fortunate enough to know him will remember his warmth, his larger-than-life personality, and especially his contagious, cackling laugh, a sound his family and friends would give anything to hear just one more time.

Above all else, Duane loved his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and his daughter and grandchildren were always among his greatest priorities. To his daughter, Jennifer, he was her rock. To his grandchildren, he was their number-one fan.

Duane didn’t simply watch his grandchildren grow up; he showed up for their lives. He supported every one of their dreams, talked them through the hard moments, celebrated every victory, big or small, and made sure each of them knew that Grandpa was in their corner. He rarely missed the important moments, and his pride in his family was unmistakable.

That same capacity for love extended to his friendships. Duane had a large circle of friends whom he valued as family, and he treasured the simple traditions they shared. His weekly breakfast and lunch clubs brought him tremendous joy and were a testament to the friendships he cultivated throughout his life.

He also loved riding his Harley, spending time with the people he cared about, and simply enjoying life. Duane understood something many spend their entire lives trying to learn: life is meant to be lived. And he lived his.

Duane was preceded in death by his father, Duane E. Voorheis Sr.; his mother, Elma A. Voorheis; his son, Duane E. Voorheis III; and his daughter, Hollie K. Voorheis.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer L. (Voorheis) Radovan; his grandchildren, Ivy C. Mooney, Charity F. Lassiter, Audrey A. Lassiter, Gabriel D. Chavez, Markus D. Radovan, Bryanna M. Radovan, Madicynn T. Radovan and Bryan C. Radovan; and his great-grandchildren, R.J. Villanueva, Grace M. Villanueva, Matteo Radovan and Azure Radovan.

Duane leaves behind a life filled with laughter, friendship, family, and memories that will be carried forward by everyone who loved him. His absence leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those closest to him, but so much of who he was remains, in the stories they’ll tell, the lessons he gave, the celebrations he never missed, and the laughter they will always be able to hear in their memories.

He lived fully. He loved fiercely. He laughed loudly. And he will be deeply, deeply missed.
