James Gallagher

James J. Gallagher, lovingly known as Jim, passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on June 7, 1938, in Queens, New York. He later made Tucson his home, where he lived until his death.

Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force before beginning a successful career as a self-employed computer programmer. He was also a passionate supporter of the Facial Pain Research Foundation — a cause that was close to his heart.

Above all else, Jim’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was his family. He is lovingly survived by his children: Laura (Rudy), Donna and Jimmy (Jody), and his grandchildren Cristina, Steve, Gabrielle, Kyle, Alex and Morgan, his great-grandchildren Jacob, Luke and Emily. His brothers Brian, John and Joe, and sisters Elizabeth, Patsy, Bernadette and Joan.He is preceded in death by parents Thomas and Anne Gallagher, brothers Frank, Thomas, Danny and Eddie and sister Marylou.

Jim embraced life with enthusiasm and found happiness in simple pleasures. He was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan, he enjoyed tending to his beautiful roses and fruit trees and rarely missed a trip to the gym.Proud of his heritage, Jim celebrated every St. Patrick’s Day with music and laughter at his annual party, creating lasting memories for family and friends.

His warmth, humor and love for those around him will always be remembered. Jim’s legacy of service, perseverance and devotion to family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Services will be held on August 20th at 6:00 pm at Brings Broadway Chapel. Jim will be laid to rest at noon on August 21st at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Facial Pain Research Foundation in our father’s memory.
