Marilyn Kay Hagg

Marilyn Kay Hagg, 75, of Tucson, Arizona, passed peacefully into the arms of God on March 19, 2026.

She was born on August 6, 1950, in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, to Marlin Hagg and Betty Wooden Hagg Dunn, the fourth of nine children.

Marilyn began her professional life with the Bell Telephone Company, working in both Indiana and Arizona. Even early in her career, her natural compassion and desire to help others were evident. She worked as a nurse’s aide, learned sign language, and volunteered at the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and Blind, dedicating herself to those in need.

At the age of 35, Marilyn courageously pursued a new path in healthcare. While working various positions at University Medical Center, she attended college and earned her nursing degree, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1990—a milestone she held with great pride. Over the years, Marilyn served in hospitals, clinics, and home health settings throughout Tucson, ultimately finding her calling as a home hospice nurse, where her kindness and empathy brought comfort to countless patients and families.

In retirement, Marilyn continued her lifelong commitment to caregiving, lovingly supporting her partner, Jeanise. She also embraced her passion for photography, capturing the beauty of nature and documenting Jeanise’s artwork with care and artistry.

Her faith remained a central part of her life, and she cherished becoming more active in her church community.

Though her family was spread across the country, they remained close to her heart. Marilyn treasured time spent traveling, especially on cruises and family visits, creating lasting memories with those she loved.

Marilyn is survived by her brothers, Martin Hagg (Susan) of Smethport, Pennsylvania; Marlin Hagg (Myrna) of Eldred, Pennsylvania; and Gary Hagg (Nancy) of Smethport, Pennsylvania; and her sister, Lynne Kolivoski (Thomas) of Smethport, Pennsylvania, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and beloved life long friend, Penni Musser.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved partner, Jeanise Jalbert-Hagg; her brothers, Lon Hagg and Larry Hagg; and her sisters, Connie Hagg Thrash and Bonnie Hagg Isler.

Marilyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and lifelong devotion to caring for others.

Her legacy of compassion and love will live on in all who knew her.

Services for Marilyn will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 10am MST at Catalina United Methodist Church. The service will also be streamed and recorded for those unable to attend in person. A short luncheon will be served after the service. Interment will be in the in the Catalina UMC Memorial Rose Garden following the service for family and close friends to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catalina United Methodist Church or Hermitage Cat Shelter in Tucson, AZ in Marilyn’s behalf.
