Norman Burke Snodgrass of Tucson, Arizona, died Friday, July 25th, 2025 in his apartment in the memory care unit at Cascades of Tucson.
Born in Milford Nebraska, he was adopted by his parents Marion Dave Snodgrass and Ruth Esther Burke of Albion Nebraska. He grew up in Columbus, Nebraska where he participated in sports year-round and developed a love for automobiles, fixing cars with his friends.
Norm graduated from Hastings College where he met and married Laurie Blende Snodgrass. They established roots in Hastings where they had 5 children: Cullen, David, Andrew, Michael, and Paul. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas where the first four sons graduated from high school. In 1989, the family relocated to Tucson, Arizona where Norm remained until his passing.
Norm is survived by his wife Laurie, son Paul, daughter-in-law Lainie Morgan, and two grandchildren, Anisa and Thomas.
At the age of 60 years, Norm discovered the identity of his birth mother after her passing and subsequently connected with his four siblings and their families. He is predeceased by his brother Gary Sander and sister Karleen Gramberg. He is survived by his sisters Joan Klanderud and Barb Hough.
Norm enjoyed his career as a financial manager, working at the University of Arizona for many years. Norm and Laurie loved visiting with friends and family around the country, frequently traveling and hosting people at their home in Tucson. They valued their communities at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wichita, and Immanual Presbyterian church in Tucson. They became international travelers with the Friendship Force.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Presbyterian Church at 10am on Saturday September 27th, 2025.
