A.T. " PETE" GIVENS A Memorial Graveside service will be held at the Tranquility Fountain at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. for A.T. "Pete" Givens. Mr. Givens passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his home here in Chico. He was 84. Born March 18, 1927 in Bogalusa, LA to Sarah and Henry Givens, he attended schools in LA, and he served in the United States Navy during WWII. In 1974, he married Cody Smith in Reno, Nevada. He worked for Continental Nut company here in Chico, and for the C.W. Johnson Ranch before his retirement. Pete loved to go camping, and hang out at car lots and kick the tires. He also loved watching western movies, and going on long walks. Mr. Givens was preceded in death by two sons, Tom and Alvin Givens. He is survived by his wife, Cody of 36 years; six children, Joyce of TN, Darlene of Chico, Sherry of KY, Chris of Orland, Scott of Chico, and Tammy of FL; four step-children, Telden of Chico, Ellese of San Mateo, Trent of LA, and Elaine of Chico; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
