Carianne Michele Wrona

Oct 12, 1976 — Oct 21, 2021

We have lost a beautiful and caring person. Carianne passed away at Enloe Hospital after an illness that she battled for over three years. Anyone that was fortunate enough to know her knew of the stubborn, passionate streak she possessed that allowed her to fight through many things her body could not keep up with, until her body finally succumbed. Carianne was born in Whittier, CA and lived in Southern California for the first two years of her life. She journeyed with her parents to Chico in 1979, where they made their home and welcomed her siblings. She attended Notre Dame School, Chico High School, and CSU, Chico, graduating as a double major with a BA in both Music-Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre. She graced many theatre stages, from her beginnings at Chico City Light Opera, to Court Theatre, Opera Workshop, and Theatre on the Ridge. She branched out after graduation and performed at Disneyland, Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa, Utah Festival Opera, and NYC, to name a few. Besides performing, Carianne also loved teaching. She gave voice and piano lessons to all ages and loved seeing the growth in all her students. Carianne was a kind, insightful, talented soul who offered much in the way of friendship and help to all she held close in so many ways. She was an avid and compassionate animal lover and would have rescued many if given the chance. From the puppies outside the grocery store, to animals left to fend for themselves, they were hers to save and give a happy life to. She is survived by her parents, Ed and Dianne Wrona, her brother, Paul (all of Chico) and sister, Pam (Stockton, CA). She held a special place in her heart for her chosen family: the McLean clan, Jeff Childs, and Monica Mile. She leaves behind her beloved and devoted dog, Wynton. Private interment will take place in November, with a public Celebration of Life to be held in June 2022. If you’d like to contribute to a fund that will be distributed to organizations that were important to Carianne, email: [email protected] for information.
