Charles Ernest Lambert (Charlie), 93, of Chico, California passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He had an interest in the lives of everyone around him throughout his life and into his final days, and always found joy in the pride of others.
Charlie was born on June 29, 1925 in Eureka, California to Charles and Marie Lambert. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jules, and is survived by a brother, Francis. He is also survived by his wife of 68 years, (Nina), a son, (Jerry), wife (Connie), and three grandchildren, Alyssa (husband Abraham), Kimberly, and Keith.
Charlie attended Humboldt State College in Eureka, California, and transferred to Chico State College where he graduated in 1950 with a Teaching Credential, and began his career as a Shop Teacher at Oroville Union High School. He later obtained his Master's Degree.
Charlie placed a high value on steadfast and productive work. He taught Auto Shop and was instrumental in starting a Metal Shop class as well. He also taught some Wood Shop. He was instrumental in allowing girls to take his Shop Classes. He loved his work, and taught at Oroville High School for 36 years, retiring in 1986. After retiring from teaching, he farmed a small acreage orchard consisting of almonds and walnuts until he was no longer able to do so.
He always thought of the other person before himself and always appreciated what others did for him. He loved life and was a very kind and gentle, loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
