David Alan Ferguson

David passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Chico, California after a brief illness. He was born on March 19, 1944 in Hayward, California to Frank "Fergie" and Betty Ferguson. He graduated from Hayward High School in 1962 and then attended Chico State, graduating in 1967 with a degree in civil engineering. He worked for the State of California for 38 years. He was a proud supporter of the Chico State Alumni Association and a lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan. He and his wife spent their retirement years traveling the world, learning as much as possible about the places they visited. Everyone who met David enjoyed his sense of humor. David is survived by his wife of 51 years Myrna, two daughters Jill Burns and Sharon Vine (Adam), both of Chico, two granddaughters, Samantha Wahl of Sacramento and Kendall Burns of Chico, father Frank Ferguson of Forest Ranch, siblings Cathy Ferguson and Dan Ferguson both of Forest Ranch and Linda Stratton of Chico along with many nieces and nephews. He as preceded in death by his mother Betty Ferguson and brother Dennis Ferguson. A celebration of life will be held at the Forest Ranch Community Center on Sunday October 21st at 2:00pm.
