David "Mike" Kennedy

A Funeral Service will be held for David Michael Kennedy, 67 of Chico, on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Bidwell Chapel. He passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 in Chico. Mike was born February 12, 1944 to John and Margaret Kennedy in Glendale. Mike loved life, people, singing, dancing, baseball, flying and everything cowboy. He had many good friends in the community. Mike, born with Down's Syndrome, was the inspiration for his parents to co-found programs for people with disabilities. He is survived by his five sisters, Margo Kennedy of Angwin, Mary Kennedy of Chico, Julie Kennedy of Healdsburg, Jean (Steve) Irving of Chico and Anne Kennedy of Seattle, WA; nephews, Malcolm and Tyler; nieces, Cicely and Carissa. He was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Kennedy in 1961. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Work Training Center, in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
