Doris Wood

A Celebration of the Life of Doris Wood will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at 123 Henshaw Avenue, in the Club House at the Kentwood Mobile Home Park here in Chico. She passed away March 27, 2011. She was 88. Born July 28, 1922 in Rippey, Iowa to Harry and Estella Ford, she attended schools in Rippey. She married Lyle Eldon Wood April 30, 1941. She was a homemaker all of her adult life. Doris loved crossword puzzles, and as a teen she loved playing basketball, and was a drum majorett during her High School years. Doris is survived by her husband, Lyle Eldon Wood of Paradise; two sons, Dennis Lyle Wood and his wife, Pat of Chico and Jerry L. Wood and his wife, Dani also of Chico; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
