Ernest Marshall
d. Jan 1, 2001
A memorial service for Ernest H. Marshall, Jr., 75, of Chico, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Chico. Ernie passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009, in a Chico hospital. He was born March 26, 1934 in Escalon, California to Ernest and Clara Marshall.
Ernie graduated from high school in 1952 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Army. Following his discharge from the Army, Ernie met and married Darlene K. Bergsten in 1956 in Kansas and then returned to California were he graduated from U.C. Davis in 1960. He then went to work for PG&E and retired in 1987 after 27 years with the company. Ernie enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with his sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. Over the years he was active in 4-H, Little League, Exchange Club, square dancing and the Good Sam's Club. We are all sad to lose such an incredible person, but we are happy to know that Ernie will now see his beloved wife, Darlene, who passed away in 1994.
His survivors include three sons, Scott (Kelly) of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Brian of Chico, Brad (Cori) of Coeur d'Alene, ID; four grandchildren, Alicia, Nicole, Kyle and Morgan; one great-granddaughter, Cailin; one brother, Roy Marshall of Oregon; two sisters, Clara Halford of Stockton and Lucille (Mike) Ambrosino of Brentwood.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Brusie Funeral Home.
