Floretta Starks

FLORETTA STARKS Floretta Starks passed peacefully on January 28, 2015 in Chico, California. Floretta was born January 14, 1930 in rural Missouri and during the Great Depression she migrated to Los Angeles where she graduated with honors from Garfield High School. Floretta and her husband John settled in the Chico area in 1962 where they eventually opened their own business that they successfully operated for over 35 years. Floretta's husband John preceded Floretta passing in November of 2014 they were married for more than 66 years. Floretta's core values included her very strong faith, caring for her family and to never be a burden to anyone else. The way she lived her life exemplified those values and she was very much loved by her family and friends. Floretta had an exceptional talent for arranging flowers, gardening and sewing and she enjoyed these activities throughout her life. Floretta is survived by three children, John Starks, David Starks (Suzanne) and Kathleen Chambers (Jeffery), five grandchildren, Jeffery Chambers, Dustin Chambers, Khristopher Chambers, Johnathan Starks (Corrina) and Kelli Kurth (Ryon). Floretta was also blessed with six great- grandchildren, Will Chambers, Hunter Chambers, Caleb Kurth, Jacob Kurth, Graham Kurth, and David Starks.
