Gary Heal
Feb 14, 1941 — Aug 22, 2016
Gary Heal of Chico, CA passed away peacefully at home on Monday August 22, 2016 after an extended illness. He was born in Dutton, AL on February 14, 1941 to Leslie and Eula Heal. He is survived by his wife Jackie of 34 years, a brother Larry Heal (Jean), a sister Pollie Harriger (George) and seven children. Lester Heal (Leanne), Gary Heal, John Heal, Mike Roark (Pam), Pat Roark (Cynthia), Bob Roark and Julie Roark Schnaidt (Scott). Ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two "across the street granddaughters' and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961 and shortly thereafter began a 32 year career with PG&E in gas construction as a welder and supervisor, retiring in 1993. He had a love for diving on the coast of California and fishing in Alaska. Some of his happiest times where the many hours he spent in his garage creating everything from Lazy Susan's, furniture for his granddaughter, to fire pits. In his spare time he played the game he loved to hate "GOLF". He will be missed by his many many friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Enloe Hospice or a charity of personal choice.
