Grover Baker

GROVER WILLIAM BAKER A graveside service for Grover Baker, 73 of Willows will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Willows Cemetery. Grover passed away on July 18 ,2014 after a year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born to the late Warren H. Baker and Margaret Eaton Baker. Grover graduated from Stagg High School in 1958 and attended two years at Stockton College. He married his wife Kathleen of almost 51 years on September 14, 1963. Grover lived in Stockton until 1968 before relocating in Willows. Grover served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. He spent one year in Vietnam. Grover ran Baker Trucking with his Father before his Dad's passing and sold the business in 2006 and retired. He was active in the Glenn Golf and CC since 1968 and was a life member of Veterans Association. He loved to play golf and was a professional bowler prior to taking up golf. Grover was a member of the 1959 Stockton Junior College State Baseball Champions and was inducted into the Sports Hall of fame in Stockton, Ca. Grover is survived by his wife Kathy, son Terry Baker of Willows, and granddaughter Mariah Baker of Willows. His main goal in life was taking care of his family.
