GWENDOLYN STERLING May 27, 1929 - June 3rd, 2011 A funeral mass will be held for Gwendolyn Miriam Sterling, 82 of Chico, on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Anglican Church. She passed away on Friday, June 3rd, 2011 here in Chico. Gwen was born May 7th, 1929 to Jack and Constance Botelho in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1947, and in 1952 she graduated from the University of Hawaii. Gwen was employed by Hawaiian Airlines and Central Union Church Preschool before going to work in the Dean's office at the Punahou School. After retiring she relocated to Chico to be near family. Her survivors include her husband James V. Sterling, Jr. of Chico; two sons James "Kimo" (Carolyn) of Colorado, Jack (Darien) of Chico; two daughters, Gayle (Tony) Souza of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Pamela (Bill) Boker of O'Fallon, MO; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
