Helen Scott

HELEN MITCHELL SCOTT Helen was born Nov. 5, 1926 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Floyd and Mary Camp. She was the oldest of three children. When she was 14 years old, her family headed for California, working and picking cotton along the way. On Aug. 1, 1942 she married O.E. Mitchell and they settled in Stockton, Calif. They had one daughter, Shirley (Merle) Leighty. O.E. died in 1965 and three years later she married Fred Scott. Helen had two grandchildren, Mendy (Jesse) Beardsley and Mike Leighty. Five great grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) Dean, Madison Leighty, Weston Leighty, Jessica (Merle) Blankenship, Danielle (Danny) Sheridan. Two great great grandchildren Cadence Blankenship, and Emily Dean. Gran as most knew her, was the hardest working woman you would ever know. She loved her family and would do anything for them. As dementia started taking over her precious mind, her home became Roses & Ivy Elder Care. This is truly a remarkable place for your loved ones. Funeral Services for Helen will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Brusie Funeral Home, followed by family graveside on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:30 am at the Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA.
