JH "JACK" WALKER
On August 4, 2016, Jack Walker passed away in Chico, CA at the age of 75 after a seven-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Arline and Bud Walker, and sister, Judi Memmer. He is survived by his wife, Cherie; son, Scott; his daughters, Stacie and Corrie; grandchildren, Alexus, Maddi, Porter, and Noah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Brusie Funeral Home on Thursday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m.
Jack's passions were his yard, square dancing with Cherie, supporting his children, and hosting barbecues for family and friends. As Corrie said, "not a day went by when Dad wasn't mowing, trimming, or blowing his immaculate yard." While square-dancing wasn't Jack's passion per se, it was a common night out with his wife until his health made it impossible. When his kids were younger, he was actively involved with coaching baseball for Scott and Stacie and attended every one of Corrie's basketball games as well as every local horse show that Stacie and Corrie appeared in. Jack is fondly remembered for ensuring that the boots for all the girls' were buffed and clean before going into the show ring. BBQs at the Walker home were a regular and welcome occurrence for those close to him.
He will be missed and remembered by all.
