Jacki Headley

A private service will be held for Jacki Headley, 60, who passed away on January 28, 2012, at home in Chico. She was surrounded by family as her beautiful life peacefully ended. She was born Debra Janean Headley on June 4, 1951, in Seattle, Washington to Jack and Jean Headley. After living there and in Southern California, she moved to Chico to attend the university and never wanted to leave. She met her husband, Graham Hutton, in Mexico, where they both lived briefly, and they were married in Chico on February 18, 1978. She started her business, "Woof & Poof", in 1975. She and her dedicated crew designed and manufactured a wide range of sewn gift products dearly loved by many, locally, throughout the country and all around the world. She started the local retail store "Made in Chico" in 1982, where she took great delight in finding and promoting local people with talents for producing well-made products of all kinds. She was involved with many local organizations including the Janet Turner Print Museum, Architectural Review Board, CSUC Sustainability Conference and Chico Heritage. She loved gardening, horseback riding and was passionate about population and immigration issues and their resolution. She is survived by her husband, Graham Hutton; her two sons, Christopher and Oliver Hutton (wife Lisa); her parents, Jack and Jean Headley, and her sister, Jan Headley Parker (husband Rod). There will be a public memorial service at a later date, to be announced. Memorial contributions can be made to the UCSF Neuro-oncology Dept. or the American Brain Tumor Association, in care of Brusie Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.BrusieFH.com.
