Jacqueline Alice Hutler
Apr 15, 1931 — Feb 6, 2021
Jacqueline Alice Hutler, 89, passed away early Saturday morning, February 6, 2021 at Enloe Hospital of heart complications. Jacce, or Nana, was born April 15, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Henry & Margaret Rath. She went to Holy Angels Elementary and graduated from North High in 1949. She loved music and sang with her two older sisters, Margie & Barbara and younger brother George, while her mother played the organ at church. She excelled at choir and theatre and was an Omaha Beauty Queen.
She married Donald Hector in 1950 and had two sons (David and Timothy) before moving to California and having a daughter (Barbara) and son (Donny). The marriage dissolved in 1961 and Jacce went back to school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
In 1963, Nana married James P. Hutler who later became Chico Postmaster. She became stepmother to James's children (Linda & Richard) and eventually gave birth to two sons (Andrew & Thomas).
Nana was very involved with Notre Dame School, and her children attended there. She was also part of the choir at St. John the Baptist and a member of the Legion of Mary. She eventually became a member of Our Divine Savior Church. She owned a liturgical bookstore and worked with St. Vincent de Paul's. Her Catholic faith was everything to her.
She loved gardening, cooking, thrift store shopping and Frank Sinatra. She loved visiting San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. But, most of all, she loved her eight children, sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and countless honorary grandchildren.
A private Rosary and Mass will be held for Jacce. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.
