Janet Diane White

Sep 9, 1944 — Oct 14, 2019

With the heaviest of hearts and the deepest sadness, our beautiful mama, Janet D. White, passed peacefully Monday morning, October 14, 2019 at 7:35 with her children, Cindy, Rob and April by her side. We all had hands on her, telling her we love her, and it is time to rest. April prayed for her as she left her body from the physical world and crossed into eternal life in the spiritual world. We now know she is with God as she was a very spiritual person her entire life. In Jesus' name, AMEN. Mom is the matriarch of our family and taught us the true meaning of love, the family bonds of closeness and to forever support, nurture and protect each other, to love our family and to love ourselves. She instilled unsurpassed family values, morals, and integrity! She taught us the meaning of selfless dedication and to know we must do everything possible to protect her kingdom and her legacy of the family she raised. Mom possessed the utmost grace and beauty, inside and out, and would always lend a helping hand to any family member or friend in need. She had passionate fortitude, dedication and was unstoppable in every aspect of life… especially when it came to the love of and in protecting her family! She was a force—with a drive never matched in her abilities to conquer the world, single-handedly! She could do anything; she was a risk taker and was able to accomplish all she set her mind to. Her latest accomplishment—Déjà Vu Antiques, Garden & Nursery was hands down "the most unique shopping experience on the ridge", and so loved by all whom worked there and visited, that is, until the fire took her precious dreams and shop… however, she did it, and she did it well! She was so creative, so talented, so driven, so positive, so organized, so sweet to all, and always with a smile on her face, even in the face of adversity. She was the strongest woman I have ever known, my best friend, my mentor, my guiding light, my force, my rock, my strength and my strongest supporter in all aspects of life. She was loved by all and a mentor to many of our childhood friends. My sister, my brother, and I will so deeply miss our daily conversations and phone calls—we must now, lean on each other… even more than before! I know you will continue to be our guiding light in spirit now, forever, and always. I love you my beautiful mama—May you rest in peace through eternity—we will see you again! Lovingly your Daughter, Cindy. XXOO Words from our brother Rob, so true and eloquently penned… "I have experienced a lot of death in my life, as we all have. Our natural reaction to death is to shield our loved ones from the pain of it. I have always understood this until my mother passed, I didn't fully understand life." "In reflecting on my mother's life, I realized the reason we were all put on this planet. This is to nurture, teach and pass on our very best qualities to our offspring and loved ones." "Our mother's qualities ran very deep, I can see this in Cindy, April, and in each and every one of her grandchildren, Johnny, Brittney, Dillon, Macy, Aidan, Dawneen, and Bryn." "She always led by example. Whenever somebody was in need, she was always first on the scene, to light a fire or put out a fire." "She was always able to take our mistakes and spin them into a positive learning experience." "I would like to invite each and every one of you to use the peace of her heart and soul that she left you to be the best of your abilities!" "Be happy, and live life to the fullest. No regrets. "I love you Mother! Your son Robby." Words from our sister, April, so true and so eloquently penned… "My Mom went to rest in the loving arms of her Lord this Monday." "2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." "Thank you, Mom for all the life lessons, for teaching me to be independent, strong, loving, and faithful." "Thank you for all of the prayers for me, Robby and Cindy." "We love you so much!" She was preceded in death, by her husband, Paul A. White, her parents, John and Ruth Merritt, and her brother Jack A. Merritt. She is survived by her children, Cindy Dawson (Wayne), Rob Shelton (Lindsey), April Hines (Dan) and her grandchildren Johnny Shelton, Brittney Dawson (Vince), Dillon Dawson, Macy Hines, Aidan Hines, Dawneen Shelton, and Bryn Floraday, her nephews, Mark Merritt (Carolyn), and Jaye Merritt (Pam). Mom did not want a service, so we ask that you please send any cards and condolences to the following address: 1464 Lucy Way, Chico, CA 95973. Thank you and know she loves you and we love you, too!
