Joan Moore

Joan Marylin (Bousquet) Moore passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010 of natural causes in Chico, California. Joan was born December 9, 1930 in Los Angeles to parents, Flore and George Bousquet of Monteral, Quebec, Canada and Avignon, France. After spending much of her childhood in Los Angeles, the Bousquet family moved to Chico in 1946. Joan attended Chico High School, class of 1948. It was there she met and fell in love with Robert ("Jug") Bunnell Moore. This rebellious older new boy often impressed her with motorcycle rides. After severely burning her leg on one of his motorcycles, she married him on May 6, 1950 in Chico, CA. Together, they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. They built cabins in Filbrook and Almanor where they enjoyed waterskiing and snowmobiling with their growing family. Joan worked as a telephone switchboard operator for Pacific Telephone & Telegraph for many years. She enjoyed spending time tending to her flower garden, creating crafts for craft fairs, getting family together for birthdays and holidays and volunteering at the information desk at Enloe Hospital for 25 years. Joan is survived by her children, Keith Moore and Kelley Moore of Chico; grandchildren, Justin Quiggle of Grass Valley, CA, Jason Moore, and Jessica Moore, both of Roseville, CA; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Colby Quiggle and Wyatt Moore. She is also survived by siblings, Jacqueline ("Fi") Hensley of Cottage Grove OR, Dennis Bousquet of Albany, OR and Mike Bousquet of Napa, CA . Joan is predeceased by her husband, Robert Moore in 2005 and her daughter, Debbie Marino in May, 2010. A graveside service will be observed at Glen Oaks Cemetery on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 2:00 in the afternoon. In charge of arrangements is Brusie Funeral Home of Chico.
