Josephine H. Kinney

Josephine H. Kinney Mrs. Josephine H. Kinney of Chico, CA died May 30, 2017 in Enloe Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Kinney, known to her friends as "Fritz," was born July 23, 1925 in Longmont, CO to Albert and Margaret V. Hansen and was preceded in death by Dr. Paul T. Kinney of Chico State University and her first husband, Elton E. Waggener of Gridley, CA. Mrs. Kinney was active in the Chico Yacht Club and was a founding member of the Crazy Ladies Club of Chico. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Oberst (George) of Missoula, MT, Kristin Tully (Mike) of Tucson, AZ, her grandson Christopher Peterson of Reno, NV and Christopher's daughters, Charlotte and Allison. Mrs. Kinney's creativity, lively wit and fine culinary skills will be remembered fondly by her many friends. Fritz did not want a formal service. You may honor her memory by making somebody laugh, or with a quiet tear, as the Chico sky did that night.
