Marie Bourey

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for former Chico resident, Marie Bourey, 92 of Napa, CA on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a Rosary said at 9:30 a.m. Marie lived in Napa for the last 2 years. Marie passed away in Napa, CA on December 7, 2011. She was born on January 18, 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana to James J. Donegan and Rita Irene Cohen Donegan. After graduating high school Marie received an AA degree in Stenography at Okmulgee Jr. College. She married Ralph L. Bourey on June 20, 1953. Ralph preceded her in death in May of 2010. Marie met Ralph while working at Johns Manville when they married. She later worked as a homemaker and volunteer Extraordinare! Her memberships include the Catholic Ladies Relief Society, St. Vincent De Paul, Hospice, involved in Notre Dame School as well as St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother and a leader for Campfire Girls. Besides volunteering, the loves of her life were her husband and her children. Marie is survived by a son, James Bourey of Sunnyvale, CA; a daughter, Anne Panchesson of Napa, CA; a son, Ralph Paul Bourey of El Sobrante, CA, and a daughter, Katherine Hardesty of Chico, CA; and 11 grandchildren. Marie will be laid to rest next to Ralph at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.
