Mary Howie

Mary Marjorie Howie, age 90, passed away on April 8, 2013 in Chico, Ca. Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late August Bernard and Mary May Bauman. During WWII, Mary moved to Orange County, CA, to work in the manufacturing of war planes. There, she met her husband, Graydon Howie. When her two sons were born, she became a homemaker and a lifelong avid, creative seamstress. After her boys entered teenage years, Mary worked for United Dairyman until her retirement. Mary moved to Chico twenty years ago to live near her family. She was preceded in death by her husband and six of her seven siblings. Mary is survived by her sister, Patty Overton of Tuscon, AZ, Larry Howie (Cathy) of Chico, Graydon Howie, Jr. (Terry), grand-daughter Shannon Barrow (Geoff), and great-grandchildren Regan, Jarron, and Shane Barrow all of Red Bluff. Mary was loved by her family and her many friends and we miss her. She often expressed her love for her caregivers at Roses and Ivy Elder Care who were so very kind to her. In respecting Mary's request, no services will be held.
