Mary Katherine Spangler

Mary Katheryn Spangler known as "Katie" "or " "Mrs. Spangler" passed away June 22, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Redding. Katie was born in Arkansas on September 29th, 1934. She later moved to Corona California with her parents and lived on an Orange Grove Farm. She moved to Chico after getting married and raised her three children. Katie had a long career at Chico Unified School District. She started in 1971 as a clerical substitute and moved up the ladder as an Office Manager at J.E. Partridge Elementary School. Our mother loved to square dance, travel, antiques, yard sales, boating on Lake Oroville in her younger years, and looked forward to the yearly Christmas and holiday seasons. She is survived by her ex-husband Don Spangler, 2 children: Tab Spangler, Sandy Stoner (Spangler); 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by Kevin Spangler (son). Graveside service only, and will be held at Glen Oaks on Hegan Lane July 6th at 10:00 A.M.
