He was also survived by two nieces, Cheryl Thomason, Cindy Railing and a nephew, Dave Glenn(Gale). Sadly, he was preceded in death by his daughter, JoAnne (Glenn) Girard.
Nick was born May 12, 1923 in West Point, Arkansas, son of Ambrose and Mattie Glenn. Nick spent his first years in West Point, AK. As a teenager he moved with his family to Redding, CA, where he was a 1941 graduate from Shasta High School. After high school he served on a Navy submarine during WWII. After the war, he returned to Burney, CA where he met Ann.
Nick and Ann met on Veterans Day, 1945. It was a Veterans Day dance where his sailor's hat went around the dance floor and ended up on Ann's head when the music stopped. The rest is a journey of many happy years as partners for life, living in Burney, Red Bluff, 56 years in Chico and the last 8 years at Eskaton in Roseville.
Nick enjoyed a successful 50+year career as a Certified Life Underwriter. He worked for West Coast Life Insurance Company as an Agent, Manager and semi-retired as a independent insurance broker. He was active in his community and the Trinity Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors, bicycling, golfing, jogging in Bidwell Park, snow and waterskiing. He was a Mason, member of the Elks Club and many other service organizations.
Nick's life was full of serving and helping others. He was especially kind and patient. He loved, his family, friends, music and wanted all to participate. He taught many friends to water and snow ski. He also hiked with the Boy Scouts.
