Norleen Manwill
Sep 22, 1961 — May 18, 2016
Norleen Ester (Dabrowski) Manwill
Norleen Ester (Dabrowski) Manwill, 54, of Chico, California, passed away peacefully on May 18th at her home with family and friends.
Norleen was born in Upland, California on September 22, 1961, at San Antonio Hospital to Edward Dabrowski, Sr. and Matilde Dabrowski. She grew up in Redding, California, attended St. Joseph Elementary, Shasta High, and graduated from Loyola Marymount University, LA in 1983 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting.
After working for multinational manufacturing corporations, Norleen embarked on her own CPA practice in 1992. Her personable and caring nature, with a dose of her characteristic humor, kept her clients on a friendly, while still professional level.
As a proud resident of Chico, Norleen enjoyed bringing visiting family and friends to all the events that the area had to offer, particularly the Thursday Night Market, Friday Night Concerts in the City Plaza, and wine tasting at the New Clairvaux Vineyard. On Tuesdays, she delighted in the creative atmosphere and lively conversations with her Knitting Circle. Each of her beautifully crafted scarves were custom stitched with a particular person in mind.
Norleen is survived by her brothers, Edward Dabrowski, Jr., 60 (San Diego, CA) and sister-in-law Susan; Frank Dabrowski, 58 (Sacramento, CA) and sister-in-law Robin; sister, Elaine Dabrowski, 57 (Portland, OR); aunt, Sister Camille Cuadra, D.C., 83 (San Jose, CA); nephew, Joseph Dabrowski, 37 (Vancouver, WA), and great-nephew, Garrett Dabrowski, 14 (Vancouver, WA) and former husband Ron Manwill (Thousand Oaks, CA). Predeceased by mother, Matilde "Millie" Dabrowski in 2000, father, Edward Dabrowski, Sr., in 2003 and grandmother, Chepita Cuadra in 2007.
She bravely took on the battle with cancer and accepted the news as an awakening. She reflected on the life she was given and found that it was overflowing with love, treasured experiences, and cherished relationships. Her attitude of appreciation and light, joyful humor was an inspiration. She felt herself a lucky woman.
Every day she awoke imagining a good day was to come.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church at 566 East Lassen Avenue, Chico, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Enloe Hospice or the Chico Humane Society.
