Pamela Sorling

Dec 8, 1944 — May 11, 2017

Pamela Sorling passed from this life at her Chico home on May 11, 2017 with her daughters and her beloved dog Izzie by her side. Pamela Louise Kratz Sorling was born December 8, 1944, in Los Angeles California to Chester and Mary Kratz. She was raised in Downey California where she had many adventures with her family and lifelong friends including camping at the beach, creating art and being a " Beauty Queen". Pam was a finance manager for over 20 years in the auto industry then went on to becoming a mortgage loan officer for the next 20 years. She was always looking for ways to help others that even after retirement she moved to care for her mother in her last years and did the same for others up to weeks before she died. She lived her life as a unique, spirited, loving soul who had a zest for life that infected those around her. All that knew her would agree that she had an incredibly big heart. She enjoyed traveling, writing, supporting the arts, caring for others, going to the casino but nothing more than spending time with those she loved. Family and friends dating back to early childhood. During her 12-year marriage to Frank H. Sorling they had 3 children: son Frank J. Sorling (preceded in death), daughters Kim Vaughn of Weatherford, TX and Nikki Uecker of Chico. She is survived by and will live on in the hearts of: her sister Penelope Romero, daughters Kim Vaughn (Jerry Vaughn), Nikki Uecker (Brian Uecker), grandchildren Tiffany Obrien, Rusty Sorling,Frank C. Sorling, Jeramy Vaughn, Shaley Vaughn, Cory Vaughn, Sam Vaughn, Dana Vaughn, Tyler Uecker, Megan Pamela Uecker, Dillon Uecker. In addition to these grandchildren that she said were her prides and joys she was also blessed to have 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she considered family .
