Patricia Hart
d. Jan 1, 2001
Patricia Hart died quietly at home on Dec. 27, 2011, from a serious, short illness following medical care.
She was born and raised in beautiful Chico to live a rewarding 89 years. Family members who love her deeply kept vigil as she passed into the next life to the Lord.
She is survived by her children, Virginia Hart-Kepler (Bill) of Glendora CA and Dale Hart of Chico; grandchildren, Eric Hart, Remy Kepler, and Tammy Morgado; 4 great-grandchildren; nephews, Randy and Chris Watt, and extended family. Pat was prematurely preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd G. Hart (1974) and sister, Isabelle K. Watt (1975).
Born in 1922 to Remy V. and Emily M. Bally, she attended St. John's Catholic school and Chico High. Pat graduated from Chico State College with a Bachelor of Arts. She taught one year at an 8-grade, single-room school in Nord. She then directed Camp Fire Girls in Chico many years. Through her sister and husband, Doug Watt, she met Lloyd G. Hart, whom she married in 1951. Pat was a very devoted wife, loving homemaker, and cherished mother. In 1976, she began work as an office assistant to Garrett Starmer PhD until his passing in 2003. Volunteer work in many groups in the community included Enloe Auxiliary for 40 years, Bidwell Mansion Las Senoras and Phi Beta Kappa Sorority, among others. She served as room mother, Camp Fire Girl leader, facilitator of and chauffer for innumerable children's activities; a model of serving others, loving life and quietly enjoying nature and animals around her. She will be remembered as a lady of gracious dignity with deep resources to overcome many losses, who loved life and God's creation, supportively served her cherished family and community, was always cheerful, young-at-heart, pleasant, independent and easy-going with a twinkle in her eye, red-turned-white hair and ready smile. She is adored by those who know her and will be deeply missed.
A Graveside Service for Pat will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Chico Cemetery, followed by a memorial gathering and reception at the Brusie Funeral Home starting at 2:00 pm.
