Richard Rozzano
d. Jan 1, 2001
Richard M. Rozzano, 72, passed away peacefully June 27, 2011, at the Hospice House in Paradise, CA. Richard was born to Dante and Mary (Twomey) Rozzano on Sept. 22, 1938 in San Francisco, CA.
He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1956, and entered into the insurance industry as a fire underwriter, and was eventually transferred to Oahu, Hawaii, where he spent many happy hours exploring Hawaiian culture and music. Richard's interests ranged from supporting Giants baseball, trips to the Hawaiian Islands, and donating to causes protecting endangered animals. He was a quiet and peaceful man, who enjoyed animals, nature, and long walks.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Donald and Robert. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Hartnett and her husband, Richard (Paradise, CA); son, Anthony Rozzano and his wife, Laurie (Dixon, TN); daughter, Shannon Hernandez and her husband, Frank (Merced, CA), as well as six grandchildren. He also will be missed by his many nephews, nieces and cousins, especially by his close amigos, Laurie Rozzano and Judy Hemstalk (Chico, CA), and his cousin, Bill Clotere and his wife, Rae Dean (Albany, OR).
Richard was a faithful member of Our Divine Savior Church in Chico, CA, and really enjoyed the many inspirational sermons by Rev. Simon Twomey. However, in conformance with his quiet and peaceful nature, he requested that only a small reception be held for him at the Paradise Hospice Gardens at 1289 Billie Rd. in Paradise on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
If so desired, any donations in memory of him may be made to Our Divine Savior Church in Chico, or to the Hospice House in Paradise, where he met his peaceful end.
